There is some uncertainty whether the competitive Overwatch scene will ever recapture the widespread recognition that the earlier professional league enjoyed. Nevertheless, the organization remains committed to reaching that level of spectacle once again.
The scheduled lineup for 2026 includes three significant in-person events spread throughout the year. The itinerary is as follows:
- A premier competition is scheduled to close the first stage. This event, known as the Champions Clash, is arranged from May 22 to 24 in Tokyo, Japan.
- The Midseason Championship will occur between July 29 and August 2 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, forming an integral part of the returning Esports World Cup.
- To conclude the season, the World Finals have been slated for December 2 to 6, with the specific venue in China yet to be determined.
