Xbox Gears Up for Largest Ever Gamescom 2024 Booth, Featuring Exciting New and Upcoming Titles
Xbox is set to participate in Gamescom 2024 in Cologne, presenting what it describes as its largest booth to date.
The official Xbox account on X / Twitter announced the publisher's return to Gamescom from August 21-25, along with a list of upcoming and currently available games. Xbox hinted at more announcements to come, but the presently disclosed list is as follows:
No confirmation has been provided regarding which of these games will be playable or hands-off. Still, given that most are nearing release and Towerborne had playable versions at last year's Gamescom, it's reasonable to expect many titles to be available for play.
Despite an impressive lineup, we don't anticipate seeing highly awaited games like Fable or Perfect Dark at this year's event. Neither of these titles has definite release dates, aside from the former's vague '2025' as shown in its latest trailer.
Xbox will be the sole representative of the three significant console manufacturers at Gamescom this year. Sony has reportedly confirmed its absence for the sixth consecutive year. Similarly, Nintendo announced earlier that it will not attend Gamescom this year, citing "careful consideration."
Nintendo would have had ample content to showcase at Gamescom 2024, especially following a recent extensive Nintendo Direct. However, it seems likely that the company is focusing on preparing its next console, tentatively referred to as Nintendo Switch 2, before appearing at major events like Gamescom again.
