Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

I never would have thought that I would be writing a review for a game that is essentially human Angry Birds, but here I am. I'm going to talk about the newest title from Mediatonic and Devolver Digital, Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a battle royale game with a 60 player limit per match. The premise is simple, be the last person standing. The match starts with all 60 players being thrown into a map with various obstacles and challenges. The first round is always a simple race to the finish. The next few rounds get more difficult, adding in elements likeTeamwork,Search and Destroy, and Hoarder. The final round is always a survival-based round where the last person standing wins the match.

The graphics are colorful and childlike, which fits the tone of the game perfectly. The game is meant to be lighthearted and fun, and the graphics reflect that. The game is also filled with wacky sound effects that add to the levity of the experience.

The controls are simple and easy to learn. The left joystick moves your character and the right joystick controls your camera. The R2 button makes your character run and the X button makes your character jump. That's really all there is to it.

There are four game modes: Solo, Duo, Squad, and Custom. Solo is self-explanatory, you play by yourself. The duo is you and one other person. The squad is you and three other people. Custom is you and up to three other people.

I've only played Solo so far, and I've found it to be the most enjoyable. I'm not very good at competitive multiplayer games, so playing against 59 other people is a bit daunting. Solo allows me to learn the ropes and get a feel for the game before jumping into the deep end.

The game is currently in Early Access on Steam, so there are bound to be some bugs. I haven't encountered any game-breaking bugs, but there have been a few annoying ones. For example, sometimes my character would get stuck on an obstacle and I would have to restart the round.

Summery

Overall, I'm enjoying Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. It's a fun, lighthearted game that is easy to pick up and play. I'm looking forward to seeing how the game evolves as it moves out of Early Access.
