Gang Beasts

I hadn't played Gang Beasts until recently. I had seen videos of the game before and it looked absolutely chaotic and hilarious. I was not disappointed when I finally got my hands on the game. Gang Beasts is a multiplayer game where players control gelatinous characters and fight each other in various arenas. The game is tongue-in-cheek, with absurd characters and settings.

The controls are very simple: each character has two arms and two legs, and each limb is controlled with a different button. There are also buttons for grabbing and throwing punches. That's really all there is to it. But the simple controls belies the game's depth. The physics engine is really amazing, and allows for a lot of different fighting styles. You can just flail your arms and hope for the best, or you can try to be strategic and use dismemberment to your advantage.

The game is at its best when played with friends. The comedy is enhanced when you can see your friends' reactions to the absurd situations that happen in the game. And there's just something satisfying about punching your friend's character in the face.

There are several different modes, but the two most popular are probably the free-for-all and the team deathmatch. In free-for-all, it's every man (or gelatinous blob) for himself. The team death match is pretty self-explanatory: two teams of players face off against each other. There are also several different arenas to choose from. My personal favorite is the construction site, which is full of hazards like open flames and loose scaffolding.

What are my final thoughts?

Gang Beasts is a great party game. It's easy to pick up and play, and the physics engine ensures that no two games are ever the same. If you're looking for a game to play with your friends, I highly recommend giving Gang Beasts a try.
